Results of the Outdoor Photo Contest 2007

And the winner is....

After 6 months of sending in over 2300 pictures from over 100 home countries depicting places of interest, parks, cities and trails in 145 different countries the winner is known. Last month the jury reviewed the 60 selected from 6 rounds and also you as a public voted the 60 selected.

2	GrandCanyonSunsetredux	This picture has beutiful sunset colors. Also the distance between the background and the front allowing the subject to be carved out. The contrasting green of the trees with the red. Only remark the person is too small to identify with to get that outdoor feeling...
3	GlacierPilate2	This picture shows the silence almost. Only the cracking of the snow you can hear. Lighting and contrast are very good allowing still the snow to have substance. Only remark is the white balance too much to the blue..
4	017	... beautiful scenery with a group in front of us we are about to take of for the day. Lighting id perfect as is the contrast of colors starting from the greyish blue of the ice water via brownish red, red green dark green dark brown back to grey, white and blue. The trees function as vertical elements to add to the depth of the picture..
5	Blausee	Almost a painting of all kind of blue and green colors. The light on the leaves frame nicely the darker blue waters wich are very clear. Only thing is missing for an ultimate outdoor picture is the outdoor action.
